“I like working with people and particularly enjoy weight management. Our team is really friendly, we all get on. I especially like that we get to know our patients by working with them over a long period of time and it's fantastic to see how our support changes their lives.

“I’ve worked at the trust for almost 7 years. I came here because York is a fantastic city and this hospital gave me an amazing opportunity to progress in my career. It’s a close-knit team as we work with occupational therapists and speech & language therapists which I think is really important when working with children and families to support them in the best possible way.

“I have worked at the trust for almost 7 years now. The Occupational Therapist role in Paediatrics is fantastic and focuses on a child's functional ability. There's a real equipment element where we focus on postural management but essentially we are looking at facilitating children to maximise their independence and their levels of participation. The job can be incredibly variable; there's a mix of face to face work, travel, and different age groups which is what I love the most about the Occupational Therapist role in Paediatrics.”

I’ve only recently joined the trust having worked previously with both children and adults. I chose this role for career progression as York is a teaching hospital. I love physiotherapy because you are working with people to help them achieve their goals and to support in their rehabilitation. There's a huge range in patients from babies up to young adults. The children are so charming and funny, and you get the opportunity to be a little silly with them, which is a lovely part of the job.”
